Some hamfisted rough coverage of my limited knowledge of the state of science around aging, following by hamfisted waxing lyrical about the nature of aging and how unprepared for it most of us are.

Well that was interesting to listen to. I’m only 23 but I’m well aware of my mortality. I’ve been neurotic about death and dying ever since I read this book in middle school where one of the characters died from an aneurysm burst. Then my grandfather dying when I was 15 really cemented the idea that I’m a mere mortal being who could die at any second and will die someday. I’m 24 and I feel older than my grandparents. I guess that’s what happens when there’s so much information around. Nowadays it’s easy to just find a picture of an actor starring in that one movie from the ’60 you like and see how they ended up. Before it was mostly about old people blabbering and young people not believing their stories about aging, until they aged, in a boring cycle of unawareness.
